CK reported the summary of its reviewed quarterly financial statements as follows: (In Thousands) Ending June 30, 2nd Quarter For 6 months 1996 1995 1996 1995 CK/CK & its subsidiaries: Net profit 122,675 162,993 271,920 244,523 EPS (Baht) 1.25 2.84 3.24 4.30 CH. Karnchang Plc (CK) clarified its 2nd quarter financial statement which showed a 25% higher operating performance than the same period of last year as follows: The revenue from construction contracts for the second quarter of 1996 was 21.5% higher than the amount in the same period of last year. This was because there was a revenue recognition from existing projects in the second quarter of 1995 and in projects started after that. Those projects were an international telephone network expansion project and Thai Communication Authority of Thailand parking building. The company recognized those revenues in the 3rd quarter of 1995.
