Attn.: President The Stock Exchange of Thailand Reference: Letter of CH. Karnchang Public Company Limited No. CK-07-0000-PO-L-0297 dated December 26, 2007 Reference is made to CH. Karnchang Public Company Limited's notification of sales of ordinary shares in Bangkok Concrete Industries Co., Ltd. (subsidiary), "BCI", to Widen Holding Co., Ltd. The Company hereby clarifies on additional information on BCI's loan obligation to the Company as at December 27, 2007 regarding the transaction of loan granted to subsidiary and accrued interest receivable amounting to Baht 122.24 Million (the principal amounting to Baht 111.41 Million and the interest amounting to Baht 10.83 Million) and the transaction of accounts receivable for sales of construction materials and others amounting to Baht 66.66 Million. The Company has been informed by Widen Holding Co., Ltd., currently a major shareholder of BCI, that at present BCI has an obligation with a bank in a certain amount which is less than the value of BCI's existing assets and it is able to repay the loan to the Company. In addition, should the existing assets and the revenue derived from BCI's business operation jointly invested with strategic partners be insufficient to make such repayment to the Company, Widen Holding Co., Ltd. has issued and furnished to the Company a letter of guarantee covering the total amount of such obligation on December 25,2007, and also informed that it would proceed to have Bangkok Concrete Industries Co., Ltd. make the partial repayment of the loan and the transaction of accounts receivable for sales of construction materials in full to the Company within June 30, 2009.
