Ref: CK-04-0000-AFS-L-0364 November 15th, 2004 Subject : Operating Result of 3rd Quarter Ended September 30, 2004 Compared with the 3rd Quarter Ended September 30, 2003 Attention : President The Stock Exchange of Thailand CH.Karnchang Public Company Limited, Subsidiaries and joint ventures would like to declare the operating result of three month period and nine months period as of September 30, 2004. The profit has dropped by 111.56% and 66.82% respectively compared with the same fiscal year of 2003 due to the following factors : 1. In the 3rd Quarter of this year, three months period, the company had the increased share of loss from investment accounted for under equity method because of the loss from an associated company which the operating result has not reached the investment value. Besides, the company has loss from unrealised exchange rate, whereas in the same fiscal year of last year the company got profit. 2. In the 3rd Quarter of this year, nine months period, the company had the decreased income from project management since the project management of one joint venture had been decreased resulting from the nearly end of the project.
