(Translation) No. CK-05-0000-PO-L-0274 October 17, 2005 Re: Additional Clarification on Purchase of Ordinary Shares in Bangkok Expressway Public Company Limited Attn: President of the Stock Exchange of Thailand Reference is made to the fact that the Extraordinary General Meeting of Shareholders No. 1/2004 of CH. Karnchang Public Company Limited, held on December 21, 2004, resolved to grant approval for the Company to purchase ordinary shares in Bangkok Expressway Public Company Limited, namely, 9,551,150 shares from Tokyu Construction Co., Ltd., 5,100,000 shares from Bang Pa-in Land Development Co., Ltd. and 60,423,850 shares from other companies, totaling not exceeding 75,075,000 shares, in the total value of not exceeding Baht 1,752,250,500. On October 14, 2005, the Company notified the Stock Exchange of Thailand that the Company had already purchased ordinary shares in Bangkok Expressway Public Company Limited, namely, 5,000,000 shares from Tokyu Construction Co., Ltd., 5,100,000 shares from Bang Pa-in Land Development Co., Ltd. and 3,000,000 shares from Para Management Co., Ltd. The Company hereby informs you that the Company no longer wishes to purchase ordinary shares in Bangkok Expressway Public Company Limited, in respect of the remaining portion held by Tokyu Construction Co., Ltd. However, should the Company have purchased the remaining portion of shares held by other companies, the Company will further keep the Stock Exchange of Thailand informed.
