Ref: CK-08-0000-AFS-L-0108 May 15, 2008 Subject: Declaration of the Operating Result of the Three-Month Ended March 31, 2008, Compared with the Three-Month Ended March 31, 2007 Attention: President The Stock Exchange of Thailand The operating result of CH. Karnchang Public Company Limited, Subsidiaries and Jointly Controlled Entities for the three-month period as of March 31, 2008, yields an increase in profit by 0.97%, compared with the operating result from the same three-month period of the year 2007 due to the following factors: 1. The Southern Outer Ring Road Project (Bangplee - Bang Khun-Thien),which yielded small margin, has been already completed in 2007. Other construction projects namely, the Nam Ngum 2 Hydroelectric Power Project in Laos, the Southern Outer Ring Road Toll and Traffic Safety System, the Bangkok Outer Ring Road No. 37 (Suk Sawat - Bang Khun-Thien section), the National Road No. 67 (Anlong Veng, Siem Reap) in Cambodia, and other construction projects undertaken by CH. Karnchang-Tokyu Construction Company Limited, have shown significant progress. 2. The foreign currency portion of the Budget cost of construction for the Nam Ngum 2 Hydroelectric Power Project in Laos has been adjusted according to the current foreign exchange rate. 3. The Company's share of loss from investments in associated companies has decreased due to improved operating results of such associated companies, namely the Thai Tap Water Supply Plublic Company Limited and Bangkok Metro Public Company Limited. 4. The Company and subsidiaries have higher dividend income and profit sharing from the Bangkok Expressway Public Company Limited. 5. The Company's interest expenses have decreased as major constructions projects had been completed and respective loans had been repaid. Kindly Please be informed accordingly.
